....Cycle Day 37....
How was your Christmas? Mine was good. It happened so fast.... Almost feels like it didn't happen at all. Does that make any sense? We decided to stay home this year for Christmas. We were so busy in November it just sounded like a good idea to stay home for the holidays. Jared's sister Chas, and her husband Cliff, were supposed to come for the weekend.Turns out Cliff had to work Christmas Eve/Christmas morning. And Chas had to be back for work Monday night. So all my plans of us making Christmas cookies together.... And doing a big Christmas dinner Saturday night.... Well those changed. And so I started planning Christmas dinner for Sunday night. We'd have to make sure we scheduled dinner at a good time because Jared had to be at Walmart by 7am Monday morning.... but we'd manage. So I start getting excited about that.....
But then it turns out Grandma and Papa would be staying home for Christmas this year as well. They were going to go outta town to Aunt Janie's, but plans changed and now Janie and her family would coming to Grandma and Papa's instead. So guess what happened to my big Christmas dinner plans? That's right, Grandma trumps sister-in-law. And the selfishness in me screams UNFAIR!!!
I didn't have a bad Christmas. It just.... didn't really feel like Christmas. There was music and decorations... But those have been around for weeks. Jared and I gave each other gifts here and there throughout the month. If Grandma and Papa are in town... We always end up eating at least one meal with them while Chas and Cliff visit us. We had a good visit with everyone! Sunday was a good day, but it just didn't feel like Christmas. So I guess New Years Eve better have a count down to midnight..... lol.
