Ever come up with plans on how to announce your pregnancy? You never know when you might need a plan. Coming up with different ways is so much fun! Of course it's kinda sad when you can't use your plan... But then you can make a new plan, right?
One of my plans after we first got married was that I would call my little brother. I told Seany boy who was 3 that after I moved out I was going to call and ask to take to Sean. He would giggle at that. I miss those days... My plan back then was to call Sean and tell him "Hey Sean, you're going to be an uncle." And then have Sean go tell everyone he's going to be an uncle. How cute would it have been to let my 3 year old brother tell the news??! He's 7 now, probably won't use that plan.
This month's plan has to do with Christmas. If I am... And if I find out in time... Sparkling grape juice. Let me explain. My mom has been pregnant SEVERAL times. 10 times if I remember correctly. Our family rarely all ate together. We out grew the kitchen table a long time ago. And the dinning room table was often piled high with stuff. But occasionally we ate in the dinning room. When we'd eat in the dinning room we often had sparkling grape juice. And while we were drinking our sparkling grape juice... Mom would make an announcement. Did I mention we only had sparkling grape juice at dinners where we all ate together? We would have some in the fridge for months and months and mom would think, "We'll have that soon. Maybe we could all eat in the dinning room next Sunday after church." My mom only announced a pregnancy twice during sparkling grape juice... But it was enough that every time we'd have it we'd be asking "Is there an announcement?". Same goes for family meetings... It was always a pregnancy, or a death. Never really knew which. But anyways....
Us kids have come to associate sparkling grape juice with announcements. Pregnancy announcements. So I was thinking for my family I would give them a bottle of sparkling grape juice in a pretty little wine box from walmart. I can just picture the look on my mom's face! It might take my dad a second to get the meaning... But my mom'll probably mouth to me from across the room "Are you pregnant?". And she'll have a puzzling look on her face because she doesn't want to assume... Then hopefully my dad'll get what's going on and will ask loudly if I am... Oh I'm getting excited daydreaming! lol
For Jared's parents I think I'll do the same thing, but with their gift I'll include a note that says "Non-alcoholic for a reason ;)". Hopefully they'll catch on right away. I'm picturing eyes welling with tears... Our parents will be so happy for us!
Anyways... That's my plan for if I am. If not... I guess it's back to the drawing board.
